An Unforgettable Gallery Visit
Ein Unvergesslicher Galeriebesuch
Hi! Today I visit a gallery in Berlin.
Hallo! Ich besuche heute eine Galerie in Berlin.
The photo exhibition there is supposed to be very special.
Die Fotoausstellung dort soll sehr besonders sein.
The photographs of Vivian Maier are displayed.
Die Fotos von Vivian Maier werden gezeigt.
She became famous only after her death.
Sie ist erst nach ihrem Tod berühmt geworden.
I take the bus and get out right in front of the gallery.
Ich nehme den Bus und steige direkt vor der Galerie aus.
There are many people at the ticket counter.
Es stehen viele Menschen an der Kasse.
It is my turn and I buy my ticket.
Ich bin dran und kaufe mein Ticket.
Afterwards I leave my jacket at the coat check.
Danach gebe ich meine Jacke an der Garderobe ab.
The first photo is already impressive.
Schon das erste Foto ist beeindruckend.
It is a self portrait.
Es ist ein Selbstportrait.
All photos are in black and white.
Alle Bilder sind in schwarz-weiss.
I continue and see homeless people.
Ich gehe weiter und sehe Obdachlose.
I see children playing on the street and street musicians.
Ich sehe spielende Kinder auf der Strasse und Straßenmusiker.
The last picture is a mirror.
Das letzte Bild ist ein Spiegel.
I look inside and I see myself.
Ich schaue hinein und sehe mich selbst.
Suddenly I see a flash of light.
Plötzlich sehe ich ein Blitzlicht.
I wonder to myself what will happen next.
Ich wundere mich, was als Nächstes passiert.
After two minutes a photo comes out of the wall.
Nach zwei Minuten kommt ein Foto aus der Wand heraus.
It is my own self portrait.
Es ist mein eigenes Selbstportrait.
I am thrilled!
Ich bin begeistert!
I take a wonderful memory home with me.
