We're excited to announce that Nina Freebird of Vocal Creations Berlin has just published "Passive Voice Formed with "Sein" - Grammar", a new Intermediate level German language lesson, on Language Mentor!

Lesson Script

Das Passiv gebildet mit "Sein"
The Passive Voice Formed with "Sein"

Introduction
In German one can use two different forms to convey the passive voice. The "werden" form, which we cover in another lesson, conveys that an action is currently taking place. For example, we would use the werden form to say, "The school is being renovated", i.e "Die Schule wird renoviert." The "sein" form, which we'll study in this lesson, conveys the result state of an action after it has taken place, for example, "The school is renovated" would be "Die Schule ist renoviert." Let's practice!
