Simplicity

Simplicity is a guiding principle in both the design of our software and the design of our language lessons, for a number of reasons ...

  • We want our software to be easy to use. We want to keep "barriers to entry" as low as possible. People are easily discouraged by complexity, even just a little.
  • In most cases making things more complex won't help the user. Language Mentor is intended to be used "when hands and eyes are busy doing other things". This also means that part of the user's attention will be busy doing other things, so simplicity is best.
  • We don"t need complexity. Our simple format is extremely effective at giving language learners the practice that they need to improve their skills.
